Qualcomm Snapdragon 8180

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8180, also known as SDM1000, will apparently feature 8.5 Billion transistors. Apple’s latest Bionic A12 chipset has 6.9 Billion transistors. Incidentally, both the chipsets will be fabricated on the revolutionary new 7nm fabrication line.
The latest Qualcomm System-on-Chip (SoC), identified as SDM1000, but believed to be eventually named as Snapdragon 1000, has been appearing online for quite some time. The successor to Snapdragon 845 and 850, claims to usher in a new era of powerful and complete processors that are exceptionally power efficient as well. A new tweet now claims the Snapdragon 1000, also known as Snapdragon 8180, will pack a whopping 8.5 billion transistors on the silicon chipset.
The SDM100 is supposedly a powerhouse that’s more than capable of running a full version of Windows 10. They can potentially challenge Intel’s Kaby Lake processors which power ultrabooks and other lightweight laptops. Moreover, with a new power management controller, the latest processors from Qualcomm won’t be as power-hungry as Intel’s processors and hence could potentially offer better battery life.
